We're all about giving you the control to customize how information flows.
Combined with the release notes links, Released now provides bi-directional traceability, making it easier than ever to navigate your product updates.

Atlassian Marketplace Bug Bounty Program
We're thrilled to announce that we've joined the Atlassian Marketplace bug bounty program! This move underscores our commitment to ensuring the security and reliability of our products. By collaborating with a community of dedicated security researchers, we aim to identify and address vulnerabilities more effectively.
Fixed XSS vulnerability in download links We have fixed an issue where certain download links were susceptible to a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability.
Draft visibility We've addressed an issue where drafts were accessible through the REST API, if the post UUID was known (which is highly unlikely).
Thanks to the researches who helped us identify the vulnerabilities!
Woah! 👀 See what just happened? This update opened automatically. Thanks to a new notification option we just released. Let’s dig into what’s new this week.
In addition to the existing Silent and Standard notification options, we’ve added a third option called Boosted. When using Boosted, the widget will open automatically, displaying the boosted post immediately without users having to navigate through a list of posts. This means that your boosted posts will catch the attention of your audience right from the get-go.
Furthermore, in the announcement page, we've made a small but impactful change. The skip-to button for unread posts will now display the title of the latest boosted post, and clicking on it will skip directly to the post.
Boosted posts will stay boosted for 30 days from the publish date. This ensures that your content remains fresh and relevant, optimizing engagement and reach.
With these new enhancements, you have even more control and flexibility in promoting your posts. Start boosting today and make your content stand out!
Pagination of posts
For those of you who like to share lots of updates, we are also introducing pagination. Effortlessly navigate through hundreds of post. Users can simply click the “Load more” button at the bottom of the announcement page to smoothly explore updates and news.
And to round it up, pagination has also come to the widget in form of infinite scrolling. This means even faster initial load times and a seamless scrolling experience for users.
Bugfixes
Basier font now loading correctly - The Basier font was not loading due to a CORS policy issue.
We are thrilled to announce the release of custom prompts in our latest update. Now, you have the ability to create personalized prompts for your tasks, giving you even more flexibility and control over your generated description.
With custom prompts, you can tailor the prompts to your specific needs and preferences. Whether you want to add additional information, change the tone, or ensure that internal references like Figma links are ignored. This feature allows you to make each task prompt more meaningful and relevant, ensuring that you have all the necessary details at your fingertips.
The best part, prompts are customizable per for each issue type. That means you can apply a playful tone to stories, while using a technical tone for security issues.
Caching of Announcements
We've made some great improvements to the reliability and speed of your customer-facing release notes. Now, even if our service becomes temporarily unavailable, the cached content will still be available to your customers for up to 24 hours.
But wait, there's more! This caching mechanism doesn't just enhance reliability, it also turbocharges the server response time by more than 10x! Here is what 10x looks like:
Improvements
Improved Canonical Adjustment We have enhanced the functionality to automatically adjust the canonical link on detail pages, simplifying installation and ensuring your page is SEO optimized.
Enhanced security with CSP headers We've added Content Security Policy (CSP) headers to ensure enhanced security for your app.
Bugfixes
We fixed a crash that occurred when the fixVersions field was missing on incoming issues.
For teams building mobile apps or managing versioned software, we've just added a great new feature that simplifies version specification for release posts, enhancing communication and visibility within your development process.
When creating a release post using the version filter, the version field will be pre-filled for your convenience. However, you can still customize the version afterwards.
When specified, the versions now show on your announcement page and widget.
Improvements
Overview UX tweaks
In addition to incorporating version information into the posts on the overview page, we have revamped the entire page, introducing icons for metadata information, eliminating certain borders, and overall made it much easier on the eyes. 👀
Option to hide cover image on announcement page
We've added an option to hide the cover image on the announcement page. For those who have similar images in the cover and the content, this will help avoid redundancy. You can disable cover images with the cover-images attribute. For more details, take a look at the page properties documentation.
Bugfixes
Dark mode compatibility We've fixed an issue where the settings widget/page previews wouldn't match Jira's dark mode. Now, you can enjoy a consistent visual experience across all settings.
Editor loading issue We have addressed an issue where the editor fails to load when the filter includes a deleted version.
We've added URL-friendly slugs for post titles and category names. This update allows the Announcement Page to use these slugs for navigation between posts and categories.
Friendlier URLs make it easier for your readers and search engines to understand what content can be found on each page. As a result, you should see the search rankings for your updates improve.
Added video to “/” command
To enhance discoverability, we have added a new option in the "/" menu called "Video". Clicking on it will open a popup menu where you can paste the video URL. Of course you can continue to copy and paste a video URL straight into the editor as well.
Improvements & Bugfixes
Removed AI success message We have removed the success message for AI generation. We will still tell you when things went wrong of course.
File upload size limit We have implemented a limit on image uploads to 10MB. That should be plenty to display your images crisp and clear.
Cover image upload fix We've fixed an issue where attempting to add a cover image resulted in an empty cropper after selecting an image.
We've added a new feature that allows you to preview your widget and announcement page before you begin the installation. You can preview the announcement page for desktop or mobile, giving you an idea what it will look like on different platforms.
To access the installation instructions, simply click on the link at the top of the page and the instructions will open in a convenient drawer.
Notification badge snippet
The links pointing to the announcement page currently aren't able to indicate an unread count. To address this problem, we are introducing a notification badge that can be added to the element linking to the announcement page. The badge syncs the unread status between different types of embed, ensuring we only indicate an unread status when users haven't seen the update.
Please refer to the documentation for instructions on installing the notification badge.
Improvements
Speed up image loading. We've added image resizing to the app. No more waiting for slow-loading images, even for the largest files.
Adjusted heading sizes. We have adjusted the heading sizes in the content of posts to ensure consistency with the post title. Headers in the post content are now smaller than the post title itself to maintain a visual hierarchy.
To keep your customers up to date with the latest news and updates, we have introduced the embeddable widget with the launch of Released. The widget serves as the perfect solution for notifying your customers about any changes in your product or app. No need to spam people with even more emails. However, when it comes to showcasing all the remarkable work you've done to both new and existing customers on your website, you have a wealth of additional space to utilize. That's where announcement pages come into play.
Beautiful in dark and light
The announcement page has been meticulously designed to showcase your hard work in the best possible light, encompassing elements such as smooth timeline scrolling and impeccable typography. Every detail has been carefully crafted to ensure a flawless presentation, highlighting your efforts and achievements.
Seamless integration
Whether you intend to display your announcements within your documentation or on your website, the announcement page has been built to seamlessly integrate into your existing layout and design. Installing the announcement page is a breeze, requiring just two lines of code.
Users will always have visibility on what they have missed. The top of the page features an unread count badge, providing a clear indication of the number of new announcements available since their last visit. Additionally, a red dot indicator on the timeline serves as an unmistakable marker for identifying the latest updates.
Category Filters
Only interested in the big stuff? No problem. Category filters make it easy to cut through the noise and show you only the posts you are interested in.
SEO optimized
While the announcement page offers a continuous stream of awesomeness, each post also has its own dedicated full-page view. This feature proves to be convenient when you want to share the post via emails or other communication channels. Moreover, it assists in optimizing your site for search engines, as each post receives its individual page, contributing to improved discoverability and visibility.
Publishing channels
Now, the announcement page is available as a channel option when you publish a post. The best part is that you have complete control over selecting the channels to which a post is published.
For instance, if you wish to inform your users about an upcoming maintenance window, you can choose to publish the post exclusively to the in-app widget. By doing so, you can keep the news page on your website dedicated to highlighting thrilling releases, ensuring that your communication remains focused and tailored to specific channels.
Bugfixes
Handling 503 Responses from OpenAI We have improved our error handling to address situations where OpenAI's server returns a 503 error. In such cases, we treat the error similar to a 429 error and retry the request. If OpenAI's server is down for an extended period, we have implemented a timeout mechanism to prevent infinite looping. While fixing this issue, we have also added a chaos monkey system to simulate unexpected scenarios during OpenAI requests.
